A New exhibition
A year after my visit I Finally got my photo’s from Sri Lanka framed and ready to show the world!
With the other exhibition Modern Pilgrims still going on in the city hall in Leiden I can now proudly tell you about my new one. I am currently showing my works from Sri Lanka As an guest artist in the Pop- Up museum Rijnhaven at the energieweg 1c.
This exhibition can be visited on thursdays until sundays for the upcoming three weeks. The Pop- up museum was started by artist Feike de Vries to celebrate his 20 year artist anniversary. Here you can watch a wide range of works showing an equally wide range of techniques from Feike.
After a month of travelling through Sri Lanka these where the photo’s I took home wit me. Sri Lanka is an country of many faces. Each part, city or environment has its own habits, culture and religion. These contrasts are what shaped Sri Lanka to an very interesting and versatile country. This versatility can be seen in the photo serie. Form the fishermen in the muslim oriented surfer town Arugam, the old dutch VOC era fortress city Galle till the fish market in the most Catholic oriented Negombo. After a civil war and an Tsunami Sri Lanka is an country in the uprising. With an promising future! but not without problems yet.
I am showcasing a Part of my Srilanka photo’s at this pop-up museum.
